Panthers Thomas Davis Wins Bart Starr Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis was chosen by fellow players in the NFL to receive The Bart Starr Award.

The award is one of the NFL’s most prestigious honors and is given annually to a player who exemplifies character and leadership on and off the field, according to a news release on the Panthers website.

Davis will receive the award at the Athletes in Action Super Bowl Breakfast.

Past winners of The Bart Starr Award include: Peyton Manning, Jason Witten, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

Davis runs The Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation which helps students develop life and social skills.
