According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.Com, McDermott will interview with Cleveland on Thursday.

McDermott declined to specify if he had any interviews lined up for this week when he spoke on Monday but did emphasize that he would be making sure he did his due-diligence on any given franchise before accepting any offered position.

“Not every job is the right job,†McDermott said. “Even though it might be a career goal, not every job is the right job.â€

Cleveland fired Mike Pettine after just two seasons including a 3-13 stint this past year. Prior to Pettine being the head coach, former Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski was the head coach in Cleveland for a single season in 2013.

The Browns hired a New York Mets executive, Paul DePodesta, on Tuesday as the team’s ‘chief strategy officer’ as an unconventional approach this offseason. .
