Can Newton Reps Purrbaca For A Cause

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — What happens when you mix the Panthers, Star Wars, and a good cause? Greatness, that’s what.

The Carolina Panthers tweeted a picture of Cam Newton on Friday wearing a “purrbacca” shirt.

The shirt features the Carolina Panthers logo with a twist. Instead of a black panther, you can sport a panther-like Chewbacca from the Star Wars films.

The Panther’s tweet reads, “Great shirt for a great cause! Pick up your #purrbacca shirt & help give kids a 2nd chance!”

Proceeds from each Purrbacca shirt sold go towards The HEARTest Yard, a family service program administered in conjunction with Levine Children’s Hospital that provides families of babies affected by congenital heart disease with a multitude of services including in-home, private nursing care, physical therapy and speech therapy among other benefits.
