Panthers Fever Spreads Across Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Panthers fever is spreading by the day in Charlotte. Â Â The more they win, the more local stores are cashing in. Â Â Fans are stocking up on team gear as the perfect season continues.
Qit Qat Tait has been a Panthers fan since 1998. Â You can see the pride all over her face. Â “A Panther is a leopard, that’s all black. Â Well I’ve got my black spots,” says Tait showing off her facial paint.
Tait joined hundreds who lined up outside Bank of American Stadium to attend Monday night’s Panthers Christmas live radio talk show.
Many waited hours to be the first to get an autograph from Luke Kuechly.
Next door, the Panthers shop was once again packed with fans, including Victoria Edwards, who says she stopped by for one reason.
“Everyone wants to take joy in all the wins, especially with us being undefeated, and to get a Cam Newton jersey!” says Edwards.
Panthers: the topic across the Queen City. Â WFNZ 610 The Fan radio host Chris Kroeger says the team’s 13-0 record is bringing new fans and new excitement.
“There are a lot of transplants in this town, maybe they’re Redskins fans, or Falcons fans or Giants fans. They want to support the local team now, probably not a better time than right now,” says Chris Kroeger.
Former Panthers player Muhsin Muhammad agrees, “When I was a part of the organization, we set a standard. We took the team to a certain level,” says Muhammad.
He says the team has what it takes to go all the way. Â “I believe that this team is going to win a championship. I believe they already won it, they just have to go and pick up the trophy,” says Muhammad.
