Zeller hits layup with 0.6 left to top Knicks 95-93

Â Â CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Cody Zeller made a layup off an inbounds play with 0.6 seconds left to lift the Charlotte Hornets to a 95-93 victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.

Â Â Kristaps Porzingis hit what appeared to be a winning 3-pointer from 29 feet on the ensuing inbounds play, but officials huddled and ruled that he didn’t get the shot off in time.

Â Â Nicolas Batum led the Hornets with a season-high 24 points and Jeremy Lin chipped in with 17 as Charlotte reached .500 for the first time.

Â Â Carmelo Anthony had 29 points, and Aaron Afflalo had 12 points in his regular season debut for the Knicks, who had their two-game winning streak snapped. Afflalo missed the first eight games with hamstring issues, but started and played 28 minutes.

Â Â Porzingis had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
