Preventing Scams that Target the Elderly
The Dr. John M. Thomason Public Library will host Preventing Scams that Target the Elderly on Tuesday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. Financial scams that attempt to separate the elderly from their money and property have become pervasive, according to the National Council on Aging. The effects on the victims of these frauds can be devastating. Dr. Susan Peters, Director of Francis Marion University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, will discuss what some of the common schemes are, how they work, and provide tips on how not to be a victim.
