Panthers Kelvin Benjamin Recovering From Mild Concussion
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers say rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin has a mild concussion. Benjamin missed practice on Wednesday.
Team officials say Benjamin was injured when Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict hit him in the head and neck area. Burfict was fined $25,000 by the NFL for intentionally trying to twist the ankles of Cam Newton and Greg Olsen.
Burfict was flagged for unnecessary roughness after the hit on Benjamin. Coach Rivera has not said if Benjamin will play Sunday against the Packers.
