Panthers Sign Running Back Chris Ogbonnaya

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya.  The Panthers have been stretched thin at the running back position after DeAngelo Williams suffered a sprained ankle in the Ravens game.

Full back Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart are both injured and not expected to play in Week 5.

Ogbonnaya played the last three seasons with the Cleveland Browns.  He did not make the final roster this season and was currently a free agent.

Last year, he averaged 4.9 yards per carry on 49 attempts.  The Panthers play the Chicago Bears this Sunday in Charlotte.
