Panthers: Greg Hardy Takes Voluntary Paid Leave Of Absence

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers just announced that Greg Hardy is taking voluntary paid leave of absence from the team.

Hardy was found guilty in July for assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend in Uptown Charlotte.  Hardy has since appealed the conviction and is awaiting a jury trial that is set to begin on November 17th.  If he is found guilty, he faces up to 2 months in jail and probation.

Also announced Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings said that they were placing star running back Adrian Peterson on the exempt list until his child abuse case goes through the court process.
