Charlotte Hornets Announce Official Bid To Host NBA All-Star Weekend
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets are officially submitting a bid for Charlotte to host the NBA All-Star Weekend at Time Warner Cable Arena. The bid would be for the 2017 or 2018 All-Star Game.
Several representatives from the Charlotte Sports Foundation and the Hornets plan to fly to New York Tuesday afternoon to personally deliver the bid to NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum and other league executives.
Charlotte already hosts a number of other sporting events like the Belk Bowl, the ACC Football Championship, the CIAA Tournament, PGA’s Wells Fargo Championship and several NASCAR’s races.
