Jacobs, Lelia Ann

Mrs. Lelia Ann Jacobs, age 61, of 118 Lonnie Farm Road, was born July 24, 1949 and died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Reedy & Mrs. Zelma M. Lowry; a son: Master Benton Jacobs, Jr.; two brothers: Mr. Johnson Lowry and Mr. Curlin Lowry and a sister: Mrs. Diane L. Bullard. Mrs. Lelia had a vibrant personality and genuine love and concern for people. She was a servant to Robeson County, the community and most importantly to her family and friends. She was a wonderful daughter, a loving wife, a remarkable mother and a nurturing grandma/mema. The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Michael Cummings and Steve Strickland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery. Mrs. Jacobs leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Mr. Benton Jacobs; one daughter: Mrs. Keena Michelle Oxendine and her husband Mr. Tracey L. Oxendine; four grandchildren: Tracey, Triston, Trevon, and Tyee Oxendine; her mother and father in-law: Mr. Willie and Mrs. Marie Jacobs; two sisters: her twin Mrs. Shelia (Mr. Bennie) Hunt, Mrs. Edith (Mr. Reggle) Strickland; three brothers: Mr. Reedy (Mrs. Brenda) Lowry Jr., Mr. Robin (Mrs. Dale) Lowery, and Mr. Marlon ( Mrs. Delois) Lowry; four sisters-in-law: Ms. Joan M. Harris, Ms. Mona Russell, Mrs. Audrey Delgado, and Ms. Peggy Lowry; one brother-in-law: Mr. Keith E. Jacobs; special nieces: Ms. Cammie Hunt, Ms. Carla Jacobs, Ms. Penny Locklear, Ms. Denise Cooper, Ms. Asa Lowry and Ms. Anna Lowry; one special nephew: Mr. Aaron Hunt; four special grandchildren: Cameron and Alexis Fleury, Brett and Noah Hunt; one step grandson: Travis Oxendine; four special great nieces and nephews: Kyla, O‘Ryan, Little Willie, and Kirsten Jacobs; seven nieces, fifteen nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 13, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
