Mr. Joseph Thomas Parker, age 73, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 after an illness. F Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late John Henry Parker and Mary Louise Chandler Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired Machinist and was of the Free Will Baptist of Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Surviving are his daughter, Gloria (James) Gibbons of Turbeville. Four sisters, Janie Anderson of Santee, Judy (Tony) McLaughlin, Mary Lou (James) Bryant and Eloise (Leroy) Bryant all of Turbeville. Two brothers, Carroll “Toby”(Janice) Parker of Lake City, Wilbur Russell (Marilyn) Parker of Walterboro, S.C. Three grandchildren, Joel, Justin and Jennifer. One great grandchild, Madyson. Fifteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faith Coker Parker. A son, Rickey Parker. The family would like to thank Dr. Priscilla Welch and her office staff along with Tri-County Hospice. funeral services will be 11a.m. Friday, December 31st, 2010 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Olive Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 960 Pamplico Highway, Suite A, Florence, S.C. 29505 or Olive Grove Cemetery Fund, 1404 Olive Grove Road, Turbeville, S.C. 29162.
