McGee Jr, Marion

Marion D. McGee, Jr., 70, died Sunday, December, 26, 2010, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. Mr. McGee was born January 6, 1940, in Florence County, a son of the late Marion Deedy McGee, Sr. and Janie Braveboy McGee. He was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and attended High Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. McGee served in the 178th Field Artillary of the South Carolina Army Reserve National Guard. He was retired from the Bridging Department of Vulcraft Corporation. He was a beloved father, grandfather and brother who will be sadly missed by family and friends. Mr. McGee was married to Judy Ann Wilkes. Surviving is his daughter, Jennifer McGee Waggoner and her husband, Clay of Summerville; three grandchildren, Cole, Hannah Grace and Sarah Waggoner all of Summerville; sister, Patricia M. Allen and her husband, Joseph of Florence; three nephews, Michael and Jason Allen both of Florence and Ryan Wiseman of Virginia; and a niece, Michelle Allen of Florence. He was predeceased by a brother, James O‘Neal McGee. Memorials may be made to High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Trust, P.O. Box 343, Scranton, SC, 29591. Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, in High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC.
