LAKE CITY: Ms. Casey Hucks, 24, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 30th, 2010 surrounded by her family in her home. Casey was born on October 31st, 1986. She was a daughter of Kenneth L. Hucks and Dianne Prosser Smothers. Casey attended Word of Life Church in Johnsonville, and was a 2008 graduate of Johnsonville High School. She was a happy, loving person who always enjoyed the company of others. Casey will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Casey‘s surviving family includes her mother, Dianne Prosser Smothers (Aaron), of the home; her father, Kenneth Hucks (Cynthia), of Hemingway; her sister, Kallie Creel (Jason Morris), of Lake City; her two brothers, Kyle Creel (Brooke), of Johnsonville, and Mason Graham, of the home; her step-brother, Ryan Coker (Cayce), of Johnsonville; two nephews, Alex and McCade Coker; and two nieces, Arlie Creel, and Brittan Coker; her maternal grandmother, Christine “Peanut” Prosser; her paternal grandfather, Ray Hucks, all of Johnsonville, and her special caregiver and nanny, Cassandra June, of Kingstree. Casey is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Roosevelt Prosser; and her paternal grandmother, Mazie Hucks. The family of Casey Hucks will have visitation from six until eight o‘clock p.m., Saturday, January 1st, 2011 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Casey will be held at two o‘clock p.m., Sunday, January 2nd, 2010 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Chapel Cemetery in Johnsonville.
