SOURCES: Redskins Get QB Kyle Allen In Trade With Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — According to sources, Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Kyle Allen has been traded to the Washington Redskins for a fifth-round draft pick.

The NFL confirmed this news on social media around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

This trade would mean that Allen would be reunited with his former coach Ron Rivera in Washington.

The quarterback became the Panthers starter in Week 3 because of Cam Newton’s foot injury.

According to ESPN, Allen appeared in 13 games, starting 12, and recorded 3,322 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He was benched in Week 16 for rookie Will Grier.
