CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Good news and bad news as the Panthers prepare for the Chiefs.
For the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain in Carolina’s week two loss at Tampa Bay, Christian McCaffrey practiced in full pads with his teammates. The Panthers All-Pro running back took a big step in his return and if all goes well, CMC could suit up this Sunday.
Head coach Matt Rhule is hopeful that McCaffrey will be able to play.
Now, the bad news.
Jeremy Chinn did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. The Panthers could be without the NFL’s defensive rookie of the month. Chinn re-aggravated a knee injury that he dealt with during college.
Chinn plays both safety and linebacker so it’d take multiple players to replace him if he’s not able to go.
