This past weekend thousands across the Charlotte area were walking to raise money to help end Alzheimer’s.
The annual Alzheimer’s Walk is different this year because of the pandemic. Instead of a large gathering, families and small teams hosted walks along sidewalks, tracks and trails.
NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney and his family hosted a walk in Huntersville on Saturday morning.
Blaney lost his grandfather to Alzheimer’s ten years ago.
Money raised during the walks goes toward Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The Alzheimer’s Association also wants to improve early detection.
