CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Hornets officials say forward Jalen McDaniels from the Greensboro Swarm has been recalled from the team’s NBA G League affiliate to return to the Hornets.
McDaniels will not be available to play Friday, as the Hornets take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, according to a news release.
Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Mitch Kupchak made the recall announcement on Friday, February 12th.
Officials say McDaniels appeared in two games for the Swarm, averaging 20.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks in 38.0 minutes per game.
Originally from San Diego State, McDaniels returns to the Hornets where officials say he has appeared in nine games this season, averaging 3.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 9.3 minutes per game.
This recall means McDaniels is now finished with his first G league assignment for the 2020-21 season, according to a news release.
