Why Exercise Feels Harder After You Take a Break from the Gym

We all know exercise is important…but, why after taking break from the gym does it feel so hard to get started again? Researchers from the University of Leeds in the UK have looked at how neglecting exercise may deactivate a vital protein in our bodies. They found that a specific protein carries blood to our muscles when we work out…but, when we lounge around for too long, that same protein deactivates…making exercise seem even more difficult than before. The new findings could help experts learn more about how to maintain what’s needed to prevent the body from feeling like it has to start over every time we miss a few days at the gym.
