Yesterday, a jury in New York found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of five out of six counts related to her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of minor girls between 1994 and 2004. Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking of a minor, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and three counts of conspiracy and was acquitted on the charge of enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sexual acts. The 60 year old now faces up to 65 years in prison and showed no reaction as her verdict was read. The jury was made up of six women and six men who deliberated for around 40 hours over six days. A sentencing date has not been set and her lawyers are working on an appeal. She is being placed on suicide watch while awaiting her sentencing.
