Retirement Community Director Plays Santa in Multiple Acts of Kindness
We found this story in a retirement community in Florence where it looks like all the residents were put on santa's nice list.
This act of kindness comes from the Pee Dee. We found this story in a retirement community in Florence, at the Carolinian where we find the Executive Director Keesha McKnight. She noticed residents were using their bingo rewards to redeem for necessities like toothbrushes, deodorant instead of the more fun items like scarves and costume jewelry. She made it her mission to make their Christmases extra special by putting together a list of essential things and gift suggestions for them. She is sending the lists to friends and family. But even if it means coming out of her pocket, every resident will get a stocking. McKnight doesn’t know that we were doing this story spotlighting her kindness. She thought Audra was simply there to take a group picture of the residents. Audra learned that McKnight implemented the bingo store last year and often uses her own resources to fund it. She also uses her time, gifts and talents in holiday decorating and even gathering the residents for a community Christmas card. You can find the list McKnight made for her residents, by searching for “Carolinian Santa Bags” list on Amazon or by clicking here.
