National Guard on Standby Ahead of Verdict in Rittenhouse Trial

Closing arguments in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial are set for this afternoon. According to the Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder, closing arguments will be given for up to five hours and the jury of eight men and 10 women will be narrowed down to 12 by drawing names. The judge will also decide whether to allow the jury to consider the lesser charges against Rittenhouse for the death of Anthony Huber.

This morning Judge Schroeder dismissed a misdemeanor weapons charge against Rittenhouse. That charger, possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under age 18 was punishable by up to nine months in prison and a 10,000 dollar fine. Rittenhouse now faces five felony charges and if convicted of the most serious charge, could face a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
