Things You Should Do This Week for a Stress Free Thanksgiving

Tackle these things now to make sure the day runs smoothly.

First, pick your recipes. Decide what you plan to cook and make your shopping list. This gives plenty of time to track down family recipes and get input on any dietary restrictions people might have.

Buy or order your turkey if you haven’t already! It’s one thing you definitely don’t want the store to be out of if you wait too long. Just be sure to give yourself enough time to defrost it as well.

Also, buy your shelf-stable foods. With all the supply chain issues we’ve been hearing about, it’d be a good idea to head to the grocery store this week to pick up stuff that will last until thanksgiving…things like canned pumpkin, canned cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, marshmallows, and beverages.

Find all your tools and tableware and make sure you’ve got enough for how many guests will be attending! Also make sure you have what you’ll need to cook too like the things you only use once a year. Or, enough bake pans for all the sides.

Also, be sure to tidy up. This means going through and organizing your pantry and refrigerator before all the thanksgiving items start piling in. And here’s another thing people often overlook…cleaning the oven.
