The Traveling Gas Can Man is in Myrtle Beach…spreading kindness
Bruce Prehn’s travels the country with the mission of raising money for charity and spreading positivity one place at a time. He’s known as the traveling gas can man. he carries one as an icebreaker because everyone can relate to running out of gas. He doesn’t use it for gasoline but rather a conversation starter about the charity he is raising money for. He has been featured in publications for the money raised for organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Alaska’s homeless population. He says he doesn’t know where he will end up when he starts each journey. The traveling gas can man is in Myrtle Beach and is coming on our show next week to share some of his stories and what he is journeying for this season.
Blue Star Mothers of Coastal University do kindness across the Carolinas
Carol Dion and Sharon Russell are just two of the Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina. Their mission is to support children in the military, each other and local veterans. They spend their weekends at festivals and events fundraising. On top of that they are also in the process of gathering donations for Christmas Hero Boxes they send to soldiers each holiday. Fundraising takes hours of organizing from pig roasts to setting up events, and not to mention brainstorming new ways to raise money. This group has so many hours of dedication and heart.
Principal writes letter to the Tooth Fairy
We love this story of how a principal took the time to write a letter to the Tooth Fairy on behalf of one of her students. The child lost her tooth at school. Literally! It fell out and after a search, the student had nothing to show except her toothless smile. Upset that she’d not have anything to put under her pillow, the school principal took the time to turn her toothless frown upside down with this letter.
