The Most Clever Use of a Noodle!

Bet you never thought to do this with a pool noodle. Wait to see our other tips for buttering popcorn, "Swiffering" and even shopping for herbs!

In this week’s Thursday Tips on Carolina A.M., we found solutions to buttering popcorn, Swiffering without refills, filling a bucket and getting started with herbs!

Use a straw to butter your popcorn.  Here’s a way to get your whole bucket of popcorn buttered, not just the top. This tip made Fox News.   In this video she uses a plastic straw in to the middle then puts the bucket under a butter dispenser.  It takes a minute to line it up but once you do, you are good to go!

Be thrifty with your Swiffer and use old socks!  No refills on hand? Use a pair of socks, he fuzzier the better. Look through your unmatched or holy socks, then slide them onto the ends of the mop and get busy!  This is especially useful for fine hairs and dust.

Use your noodle when you clean! Now that summer is over, don’t toss out your pool noodle! Keep it on hand to fill those cleaning buckets. When the bucket won’t fit into your sick, or any occasion where you need to get water from one place to another just connect one end of the noodle to the nozzle on your sink.   Direct the other end into the bucket and fill!

Take the first step with herbs!  They make great decor and smell great and can give your cooking just the healthy kick it needs.  But with so many choices of plants, where do you start?  Marianne Jentilucci with the Low Country Herb Society recommends visiting a nursery/greenhouse to touch and smell different herbs.  See what appeals to you.
