You Might be a Baby Boomer if You Wear These!
Greg and Audra dig into why Boomers wear jorts and jeggings and all the other things they do!
What do cruises, jeggings and potpourri have in common? Baby boomers, according to the Millennials. In fact an online article was published with a list of things they say only baby boomers think are cool. But who are Millennials to judge? Nonetheless they say wearing “jeggings” which are leggings that look like denim and the men’s long denim shorts, called “jorts” are a true sign of a Baby Boomer. Another thing Millennials don’t get is the catalogue shopping. Perhaps that’s because they grew up with the instant gratification of online shopping. While sites like Amazon have become a new way to shop, Boomers still keep the catalogues alive. It’s an experience in itself with flipping and marking the pages, filling out the order forms, mailing it and then receiving your package! Another big difference in the ages is ironing. It’s a time consuming task but many Baby Boomers still see it as a necessity to appearing proper…down to the drapes! And if you’ve wandered why your parents or grandparents just can’t get into the Netflix binging? You will likely find them watching a 24-hours news source or a procedural dramas like NCIS. Here’s likely why. Boomers were the first generation to experience a 24-hour news source. That was a big deal to have access to news all the time! Before, they had to wait for the local evening news which, back in the day, was at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Millennials wouldn’t know what that is like as present day, the local news comes on earlier and stays on longer with updates throughout the day delivered to our phones!
