Woman Charged for Murder in Robeson County

A woman from Lumberton has been charged in connection to a murder that happened in Robeson County on Saturday afternoon. According to Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, deputies charged 39 year old Dorothy Bryant with first-degree murder in the death of 57 year old Sam McLellan Jr. Wilkins said at about 5:30 pm, deputies responded to the 300 block of Deer Stand Drive in Lumberton in ‘reference to an individual shot.’ They found McLellan suffering a gunshot wound. He was transported to UNC Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton where he died from his injuries. Bryant is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond. The incident is being investigated.
