Andrew Cuomo’s Top Aid Resigns, Committee Meets To Discuss His Impeachment
Last night, less than a week after the release of a report from the NY Attorney General’s Office that found Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women, the New York Governor’s top aide Melissa DeRosa resigned. In a statement DeRosa said “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the people of New York for the past 10 years. New Yorkers’ resilience, strength, and optimism through the most difficult times has inspired me every day. Personally, the past 2 years have been emotionally and mentally trying. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such talented and committed colleagues on behalf of our state.”
Members of the state Assembly’s Judiciary Committee are expected to meet today to discuss a timeline for Cuomo’s potential impeachment. The report that came out last week found that the encounters led to a ‘toxic’ workplace environment under Cuomo and said that the environment allowed for his behavior to go overlooked. Cuomo has denied the allegations.
