Federal Investigations Asking For Cooperation From 2 Key Witnesses In The Probe Of Rep. Matt Gaetz

Federal investigators are asking for cooperation from 2 key witnesses in the probe of Florida Representative Matt Gaetz. One is a former capitol hill intern who’s an ex-girlfriend of Gaetz and the other is Florida County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg who’s approaching a deadline this week to strike a plea agreement with the government on more than two dozen charges he’s facing. A source says the pursuit of the cooperation comes as investigators are nearly finished collecting evidence in the probe.

Gaetz is being examined for whether he broke federal sex trafficking, prostitution and public corruption laws and whether he had sex with a minor. A decision on whether or not to charge Gatez hasn’t been made and will fall to prosecutors in the public integrity section of the Justice Department, that decision though will take some time. Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing including paying for sex or having sex with a minor.
