Eight People Were Killed During A Shooting At A FedEx Facility In Indianapolis

Eight people were killed and several were injured during a shooting at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis. Police were called to the area around 11 p.m. when a gunman opened fire outside and inside of the building. According to Indianapolis Police Deputy Chief Craig McCartt the gunman arrived in the parking lot, exited his vehicle and quickly began shooting. The incident only lasted about one to two minutes overall. The names of the victims or gunman have not been released. McCartt believes the gunman killed himself as officers encountered him. The motive for the shooting is not known and officers are still investigating. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff from today until sunset on Tuesday ‘in memory of those lost’. FedEx released a statement saying it was “deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of our team members.” This marks the 45th mass shooting in the United States since the Atlanta area spa shootings a month ago on March 16th.
