Man Charged With Kidnapping And Murdering An 80 Year Old Horry County Woman

An arrest was made yesterday in connection with the murder of a missing Horry County woman who’s body was found in Marion County on Monday. According to police, 29 year old Dominique Brand was arrested yesterday after officials conducted a search warrant at his home. 80 year old Mary Ann Elvington was reported missing and endangered after she was last seen at her home on Highway 76 in Nichols. Her 2012 Buick LaCross was found unoccupied on Bobby L. Davis Boulevard in Marion on Monday evening and her body was discovered about 10 miles away on Zion Road near Zion Grocery. Brand is charged with murder, kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He was denied bond this morning.
