Myrtle Beach Marathon Delayed
The Myrtle Beach Marathon has been postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. The 24th annual race was scheduled for March 6th and has always been held on the first Saturday in March but now, it’s been pushed back two months to May 1st. Last year’s race held on march 7th was the last sporting event held on the Grand Strand before the pandemic began. In a statement, the organizer of the event ‘Capstone Event Group’ said after working with the city of Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand Medical Center they determined that there wouldn’t be enough first responders to properly staff the course.
