Massive Federal Manhunt Underway for Those Involved in Deadly Capitol Riot
The death toll from the violent Capitol riot has risen to five after it was confirmed a Capitol officer passed away. Brian Sicknick reportedly died late last night from injuries sustained during the riot while physically engaging with insurrectionists. His death is now under investigation by the DC Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide branch, the U.S. Capitol Police and federal partners. Authorities are also looking into the two pipe bombs left outside the RNC and DNC headquarters during the raid. The FBI has released a photo of a potential suspect and is offering an up to $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction on the matter. The FBI has also released dozens of images of more wanted participants in the DC riot as part of a massive manhunt. They’re receiving thousands of tips a day, looking into social media activity, and utilizing facial recognition software on all the videos and photos captured during the raid, many of which are circulating online. Those who traveled across state lines are said to face greater charges. As of last night, around 80 people have been apprehended. Some have also lost their jobs.
