U.S. Attorney for SC to Prosecute Residents who Attended Capitol Riot
The U.S. Attorney for South Carolina has issued a warning against residents who participated in yesterday’s riot. In a statement to Twitter, Attorney Peter McCoy said, “Let me be perfectly clear: Federal crimes were violated today at our Nation’s Capitol building.” He promised anyone who traveled from South Carolina to attend the march and commit “acts of destruction” will be federally prosecuted by his department and to the fullest extent of the law.
