Texas Pastor Killed, Two Others Injured in Church Shooting
A pastor was killed, and two others injured yesterday in a shooting at a Texas church. A manhunt was already underway for the suspect after an incident that took place the previous night. 21-year-old Mytrez Woolen was able to evade police, ditch his car in the woods and broke into the church. Around 9:30 a.m., the pastor confronted Woolen with a gun inside the bathroom. Woolen then disarmed the pastor and killed him. Two other people inside the church at the time were also injured. One sustained a gunshot wound and the other was hurt during a fall. Shortly after fleeing in the pastor’s car, Woolen was apprehended. He has since been hospitalized for a gunshot wound in his hand. It’s unclear at this time when he was shot. The suspect now faces charges of first-degree murder and felony assault and is being held on a $3.5 million bond. His motives are not believed to be politically or religiously motivated in any way.
