Over 2.5 Million Early Votes Cast in Georgia Run-Off Elections
Voters in Georgia have cast more than two and a half million ballots a week ahead of two run-off elections.
The senate seats up for grabs could change control of the chamber from republican to democrat. If democrat Jon Ossoff defeats senator David Perdue and Raphael Warnock beats GOP senator Kelly Loeffler, it would split the senate down the middle with 50 votes on each side of the aisle. In that situation, vice president-elect Kamala Harris would be allowed to break ties. A staggering half a billion dollars have been spent on the campaigns. Of the votes already cast, 1.7 million have been in-person at early voting locations, and 856,000 have been absentee ballots.
