Arrest Made After Toddler Abandoned at Goodwill in Mississippi
At least one person has been arrested after a toddler was abandoned at a store in Mississippi. Southaven Police were alerted Monday morning to the scene of a Goodwill where the 2-year-old boy had been dropped off with nothing but a bag of clothes and a note. While the child was too young to help police, a witness was able to give a description of the man who left him behind. This was confirmed by nearby security camera footage that also captured images of a female suspect and the vehicle they were seen driving. Thanks to tipsters, authorities located the car later that afternoon. The driver was attempting a getaway when they crashed into another car and several deputy vehicles. The suspect’s identity and charges are currently unknown and law enforcement believes more arrests could be made. It’s unclear at this point if the mother was involved. The young boy is reportedly in good spirits and will be reunited with family when child protective services deems it appropriate.
