FCC Awards South Carolina Millions in Rural Broadband Funding
The Federal Communications Commission has awarded South Carolina $121 million in rural broadband funding. The money will impact over 100,000 unserved homes and businesses statewide. Currently, state leaders are working to ensure access to the internet by expanding broadband. This became particularly important after the pandemic hit and many schools had to revert to online lessons. Senator Lindsey Graham said of the grant, while it’s very good news, “it doesn’t solve the problem completely.”
