Woman Sentenced to 40 Years After Throwing Newborns in Trash

The North Myrtle Beach woman who killed her two newborns after throwing them in the trash was sentenced this morning. 32 year old Alyssa Dayvault gave birth in November of 2017 and December of 2018. She reportedly had life-threatening complications after the second birth and was forced to seek medical attention which is when she admitted to her crimes. A judge convicted her for 2 counts of homicide by child abuse and sentenced her to 40 years for both. She will serve them concurrently. The judge said the ruling had nothing to do with the fact that she was a no-show at her earlier trials.
