Campaign Blitz Continues Today With Dueling Presidential Rallies in Florida

The all-out campaign blitz continues today with the presidential candidates hosting dueling rallies in Tampa. With 29 electoral votes up for grabs, Florida’s predicted to be a crucial battleground state this year. President Trump’s hosting his rally outside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football stadium which is actually the site of a polling place. By law it’s illegal to campaign within 150 feet of a polling location, but the president’s event is taking place in the parking lot, just outside the legal zone. Meanwhile, Biden is holding a socially distanced, drive-in event this evening. Nearly 7 million Floridians have already voted with five days left until the election. Texas, Montana and Washington have already surpassed 80 percent of their 2016 voter turnout. Nationally, 76 million total ballots have been cast as of this morning, compared to only 47.2 million in the 2016 election. A political science professor in Florida said not only are the “numbers stunning,” but people have also been requesting ballots and sending them back at unprecedented numbers and speed.
