Hurricane Delta Hours Away From Making Landfall in Louisiana

We are now just hours away from Hurricane Delta making landfall in Louisiana. The storm has intensified into a category 3 as of yesterday afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center. As a result, hurricane warnings have expanded west as Texas also now prepares to feel its impacts. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are under states of emergencies as Delta approaches, bringing life-threatening storm surges, severe flooding, and more. That’s not even the worst part, however. The storm is predicted to hit along the same portion of the Gulf Coast that’s still recovering from Hurricane Laura’s devastation six weeks ago. Hundreds of homes were destroyed and many people still don’t have roofs as they brace themselves for yet another major storm. They also still haven’t finished debris clean up which could have potentially deadly consequences. Fortunately this storm is fast moving and upon land impact, is expected to deteriorate in strength.
