Governor Places Partial Blame on Trump Administration Following Foiled Terror Plot
Following her alleged kidnapping plot, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is placing partial blame on the Trump Administration. Those who conspired to abduct and kill her made other threats that included targeting law enforcement and instigating a civil war by overthrowing the government all in response to the state’s pandemic lockdown. Whitmer is now claiming President Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric and calls to action incited the chaos and violence, specifically sighting a tweet he wrote in April that simply read “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!”. In response, President Trump’s senior campaign advisor came out blasting Whitmer, accusing her of being full of hatred. President Trump also criticized the governor’s “terrible” Covid-19 response and further berated her for not thanking him, especially after it was his government officials who stopped the plot. Whitmer said the administration’s aggressive response, especially following the discovery that her life was being seriously threatened, only proves her point.
