Breonna Taylor Ruling Sparks Protests, Violence in Cities Nationwide

Shortly after the Breonna Taylor ruling, violence erupted across Louisville. Demonstrators marched through the streets to voice their anguish and outrage over the recent indictment which did not directly charge anyone with Taylor’s death. It didn’t even name her as a victim. What initially began as peaceful protesting, took a turn after minor property damage was committed and fires were set. Things quickly escalated after two Louisville officers were shot. Both sustained non-life threatening injuries to their abdomen and thigh. They are now recovering in a hospital. It’s been further revealed two more civilians sustained gunshot wounds and a third officer suffered unrelated minor injuries. It’s unclear at this time if protesters are responsible for the violence. Louisville was also not the only city to see unrest as a result of the ruling. Similar protests sprung up across the country. Over a thousand miles away in Denver, Colorado, a driver was detained after plowing his vehicle into a crowd. It’s believed no one was seriously injured.
