Second Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting of 5-Year-Old Cannon Hinnant

Another arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant from Wilson, North Carolina. Hinnant was shot point blank by his neighbor while riding a bike in his front yard on August 9th. He later died in the hospital from his injuries. 25-year-old Darrius Sessoms was charged with first degree murder the following day. Now his girlfriend, 21-year-old Aolani Pettit, is facing felony charges of accessory after the fact in relation to the case. She is in jail under a $250,000 bond. Hinnant’s mother is currently seeking the death penalty for Sessoms.
