Talks of Hazard Pay for Teachers, Other Workers Put on Pause in SC State House
The conversation regarding hazard pay for state employees and teachers has been put on hold. This comes following weeks of budget discussions within the South Carolina State House that would include the allocation of hazard pay for those working essential jobs during the pandemic. But when members met yesterday, they failed to come to some sort of agreement and decided to reconvene at a later date to tackle the issue. They are set to meet again on Tuesday at 12 p.m. However, it’s unclear if they will come to a decision then, either. Some members of the House have suggested they want to wait until 2021.
