Jacksonville Attorneys Sue City in Order to Stop RNC From Happening

Jacksonville attorneys filed a lawsuit yesterday against the city in attempt to stop the Republican National Convention from taking place there. Florida has been deemed the nation’s number one COVID-19 hot spot, with over 223,000 cases and the record for the highest amount of single-day confirmed cases for any state in the U.S during the pandemic, which was set over the weekend. The complaint lists numerous reasons why “it’s necessary and essential that all super spreader events where large numbers of people congregate in close proximity indoors not occur”, citing the health safety of the city’s residents as the main concern. This all comes as Tulsa authorities report the president’s campaign rally “likely contributed” to the record-breaking surge in cases they’ve been experiencing over the last week or so. The official complaint has yet to be recorded, but there’s still plenty of time. The event is not set to take place until the end of August.
