Trump Administration Introduces More Immigration Restrictions

The Trump Administration has announced even more limitations for immigrants in the U.S. on temporary work visas. The latest series of restrictions will largely affect individuals coming here on visas for the following reasons: intracompany transfers, workers in specialty occupations, temporary non-agricultural workers and exchange visitors. Certain spousal visas will also be restricted. However this order will only apply to those still outside of the U.S. The new restrictions will go into effect tomorrow. The president said they made the decision because it’s necessary now more than ever to protect American jobs. However, many were quick to disagree, including multiple tech companies. These places normally employ thousands of skilled foreign workers and the order would heavily impact them. They argue this is just an excuse for the Trump Administration to push their main agenda, which they believed is to limit immigration into the country.
