U.S. Sees COVID-19 Spikes with 20,000 New Infections
Almost 20,000 new cases of the coronavirus were reported yesterday. Yesterday also saw almost 1,000 more deaths. This brings the total deaths now to over 107,000 with 1.8 million infected in the U.S. It was also announced this morning 43 million Americans are now unemployed. Fortunately, Dr. Anthony Fauci has predicted we should expect about a couple hundred million doses of a COVID-19 vaccines by the beginning of 2021. Fauci said he believes this is due to the fact that biotech company, Moderna, in partnership with NIAID are prepared to enter stage three of testing by early July. Fauci has also suggested that keeping schools closed through the fall may not be necessary. This could be due to the fact that children tend to have mild to no symptoms at all if infected. However, there is still fear surrounding news of this recent spike in cases. It’s believed as protests continue across the nation and the world, we could see even more peaks, overwhelmed hospitals, and deaths.
