U.S. Coronavirus Task Force Slowly Fading Out

As the U.S. COVID-19 death toll surpasses 101,000, the coronavirus task force is being faded out. During the peak of the pandemic in the U.S., the force, which was composed of high-ranking doctors and administration officials, was meeting every single day. Members were also appearing on television every day to give us the latest updates. Now, as every state has begun to reopen, the force has reduced it’s meetings to once a week. Their public visibility has also considerably diminished. Many are worried their decreased presence could lead to safety recommendations being overlooked. However, others are viewing this as a positive sign things are improving. One official said we no longer need to make “a decision every day” and that they’re still actively monitoring the situation.
