Connecticut Man Arrested After Violent Crime Spree Over Weekend

The massive, multi-state manhunt involving a University of Connecticut senior has ended in an arrest. 23-year-old Peter Manfredonia was the suspect in a string of violent crimes that involved multiple serious assaults, two murders, a kidnapping, theft involving two cars and numerous firearms, as well as two home invasions. The spree lasted for six days and spanned four states, including Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Manfredonia was finally apprehended at a truck stop in Maryland late last night. A break in the case is what led to his arrest after witnesses reported seeing him in a convenience store. He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and the FBI. He is currently being held in a Maryland detention center awaiting extradition to Connecticut. It is still unclear what Manfredonia’s motives were, especially since he doesn’t have a history of violence prior to this.
